David Batchelor (Pastor) took up the role of assistant pastor at South Street in September 2009, having completed 4 years of full-time study at Oak Hill Theological College. In October 2010 he became the church’s pastor. He is married to Elaine and they have 4 children. He worked for nearly 11 years as a computer programmer. David is an individual member of the Sussex Gospel Partnership.
Tony Thompson (Elder) was asked to a Brethren Assembly by neighbours when living in Crawley and came to know Christ after attending there regularly for about four months. He and Judith were married in 1990. Preparing for ‘early retirement’ they moved to Eastbourne in 2005 and settled at South Street Free Church in 2006. Tony was a Civil Engineer by profession and Judith was a nurse.
